Cycle

As a passionate cycling enthusiast, Annette can often be found gliding along the winding road from Selene to Sy,mis neoclassocal harbour. The sea on one side, the hills on the other and the scent of thyme in the air. It’s one of the simplest joys of life on Symi, and one we invite our guests to share.

Through our partners at SeeMe Rolling, a local venture founded by brothers Lampros and Lefteris, who share a deep love for their island and the open road, guests at Selene have access to a fleet of modern electric bikes, designed perfectly for Symi’s rolling hills and coastal climbs. These bikes make exploring effortless so you can rise from sea to summit without strain, pausing only to take in the views and the quiet energy of the island.

Whether you wish to glide down to the main harbour for a morning coffee or set out for a day of discovery, your bike becomes your companion in exploring Symi’s calm untamed beauty.

For those who prefer to journey with a guide, SeeMe Rolling offers a collection of curated tours that reveal the island’s most captivating corners:

The Sunset Tour

A golden-hour ride through olive groves and hillside paths to the Church of the Holy Cross (Stavros Tou Polemou), where you gaze eastward across the Aegean to Turkey and Asia beyond — the ancient crossroads of worlds and stories. As the sun sinks low, the island glows in amber light, and the horizon becomes a shimmer of sea and memory.

The Panormitis Excursion

A full-day adventure to the sacred Monastery of Panormitis, followed by a peaceful hike down to the hidden bay of Faneromeni, where turquoise waters sparkle in stillness. Here, a picnic by the sea and a cool swim await — the perfect pause before the return journey.

The Toli Beach & Roukouniotis Ride

A leisurely cycle to Toli Beach, where lunch awaits at Daphne’s Taverna— beloved for its exquisite seafood and idyllic setting by the sea. Afterwards, continue to the Monastery of Roukouniotis, one of Symi’s most historic sanctuaries, before returning to the harbour as the sun begins to fade, the air filled with warmth, salt, and contentment.

Or, of course you can always set out independently - following your own rhythm. Stop to swim in a hidden cove, photograph a whitewashed chapel or simply pause to breathe in the blue. Every turn of the wheel reveals another view, another mood, another memory waiting to be made.

At Selene, we believe exploring Symi should be unhurried, sensory and deeply personal - and on two wheels, the island unfolds just for you.
