  • Flying to Rhodes is the most direct. Or you might choose to go via Athens. You can also fly to Kos.

You will then need to select your transfer from Rhodes (or Kos) to Symi. There are several ferry operators during the day who can connect to Symi. Ferryhopper is a friendly app to use. We recommend you download this or something similar to book tickets prior to travel.

  • Ferry: We can meet you at our beautiful harbour on arrival in Symi, and return transfers to your selected boat can also be arranged. Please give 24 hours notice of your arrival ferry.

Our checkin time is 16.00 and checkout time 11.00. Please ask for late check outs as sometimes they are available.

    Other ways to transit:

Helicopter. Private helicopter transfers are available to Symi from other Islands, with the nearest commercial helicopters for charter based in Mykonos.

Yacht. We can recommend yacht transfer which would include a 2 night (or more) sail. More than just a transfer! An opportunity to take in the Aegean sea and nearby islands on your way, or way back to / from Symi. This will deliver (or collect) you from the jetty right outside Selene.

Private transfer. By arrangement we can orgainse a private boat (Rib) for the crossing which will take roughly an hour, this will bring you directly to our jetty outside Selene in Nimborio.

  • Symi is relatively small, so getting around is fairly simple. There is scooter and car hire, electric cars (microlino) and e-bikes on the island.

Daily taxi boats run from mid May through to mid October and can take you to and from Nimborio to the main harbour (Gialos) 5 minutes from Selene.

From the main harbour you can jump on any of the taxi boats to take you to other beaches, or once in Gialos use the bus, grab a car or walk to your chosen destination.

Water taxis can also be booked privately in the evening for groups wishing to travel to the harbour town for dinner, though local maritime laws state that taxi boats cannot operate after 23.00.

Walking. The main harbour is 3km away and can be reached on foot via a coastal or inland path – please don’t forget your water bottle and sunhat!

  • Its great! something for everyone. In the height of summer the harbour can get very busy and run into the early hours for those with stamina!

Please note taxis will stop running by about 12 midnight, so if you do not want to walk - do pre-arrange / pre-book how you will make a late return to Nimboro.

  • There is an excellent medical centre on Symi in the upper village and for serious emergencies helicopter transfers will take you to Rhodes hospital.

Symi has two good pharmacies who are both well equipped.

  • The best thing to do is check the weather apps or climate info online for detailed information.

Broadly speaking, April through to June has a spring feel about it, the nights are cooler and after the winter rains the island is much greener full of flower and mountain herbs. It can still rain during this period, but its likely it will be brief. June can reach temperatures into the 30’s during the day and starts to get much hotter.

July and August will be hot, hot, hot.. lots of sea swimming and much warmer nights!

September starts to cool down and the light is fantastic. October sees colder nights, and balmy days. Great for walking, as is spring.
