YOUR SELENE GUIDE

Welcome to Selene. We hope you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

This guide covers everything you need for a comfortable, unhurried stay - from the practicalities of the house to the rhythms of island life. If there is anything we have not thought of, our guest team is always close by.

Annette, Claire and the Selene team

THE HOUSE

Please take your key fob with you whenever you leave the property. We also ask that you bolt the main gate on your way out - our resident wild goats have a fondness for the garden and are surprisingly determined.

Keys and the Front Gate

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in every room and on most terraces.

Wi-Fi

Selene is a non-smoking property. We ask that guests refrain from smoking anywhere on the premises. Thank you for your understanding

Smoking

Symi's winds can strengthen very suddenly. Please ensure all shutters, windows and doors are secured when you leave your room or go to bed.

Wind and Shutters

Your room will be serviced daily between 10.00 and 16.00. If you would like your towels changed, please leave them on the floor. If you are happy to reuse them, simply hang them up. Linen is changed twice a week.

Housekeeping

We kindly ask that you avoid lying on the beds while wearing sunscreen. These products are often very difficult to remove and can permanently mark white linen

Bathrooms

A note on the plumbing. Please place all paper items in the bins provided rather than flushing. Bins are emptied daily.

Please switch off the air conditioning when you leave your room. Symi's natural resources are precious and we are committed to using them wisely.

Air Conditioning

IN YOUR ROOM

Beach towels are folded in the basket in your room. Please make sure to bring them back at the end of each day rather than leaving them at the beach or by the water.

Your room is stocked with a full suite of 10am Apotheke amenities - an Athenian brand rooted in ancient Greek ritual, using natural ingredients crafted by hand. Body wash, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and hand wash are provided in full-sized pump bottles and can be replenished throughout your stay. Please just ask the team.

Your Yeti flask is yours to use throughout your stay. Keep it filled with cold water and take it wherever the day leads.

WATER AT SELENE

One small but genuine pleasure: the tap water at Selene is safe to drink. The villa runs its own desalination and filtration system, so your Yeti flask can go straight to the tap. Please use it freely - it is far kinder to the island than bottled water.

THE BEACH GATE

A private gate leads directly to the water. The key hangs on the back of the gate. Please lock at night if you feel safer, and ensure it is closed whenever you pass through - the goats, as you may have noticed, require very little encouragement.

LIVING LIGHTLY ON SYMI

Symi is a small island with finite natural resources. Water in particular is precious during the summer months.

We ask all guests to be mindful: turn off air conditioning when leaving your room, reuse towels where you can, and take a moment to appreciate the extraordinary environment you are in. These small acts make a genuine difference.

Thank you for helping us care for this place.

Taxis

There are six taxis on the island. Drivers do not always take advance bookings, so we recommend calling a little ahead rather than booking far in advance. They will most likely pick up and drop off at Giala beach, which is the first beach with a cafe before you arrive at Selene, a 5 minute walk.
